El principal objetivo de este CCE sería el asesoramiento a los grupos
de investigación de la red.
Las principales funciones del Comité Científico Externo son:
1. Evaluar la calidad de la actividad científica desarrolla al amparo de la red.
2. Servir de apoyo en la puesta en marcha de la nueva red.
3. Evaluar la nueva red a los 4 años de su puesta en marcha.
El Comité Externo está formado por:
Mike Pringle. He is Professor of General Practice and Head of the School of Community Health Sciences in the University of Nottingham. He is a member of the General Medical Council and a board member of UKBiobank. Mike Pringle has recently completed his secondment as part-time National Clinical Lead for General Practice in NHS Connecting for Health and is now Strategic Director of PRIMIS+.
His research interests include the management of chronic disease, health informatics and quality assurance.
Irwin Nazareth. Director of MRC-General Practice Research Framework, Head of Reserach Department of Primary Care and Population health, University College of London, Director of Primary Clinical Trials (UKLRL fully registered). Professor Nazareth has demonstrated how a GP can be both a clinician and a researcher. He still works as a part-time GP, as well as an academic. He is an excellent supervisor and is keen to develop researchers.
Paul Van Royer. University of Antwerp.Head of department of Primary and Interdisciplinary Care; Head of the GP/Familiy Medicine research groups. President of the European General Practice Research Network (EGPRN). Expertise on qualitative research. Topics of research: diagnosis reasoning, educational research, respiratory tract infectious, sexual health and STD, and diabetes.
